Melodic death metal heroes AMON AMARTH are pleased to unveil the details of their ninth studio album. Titled Deceiver of the Gods, the epic offering was recorded at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, UK, produced, mixed and mastered by Andy Sneap (Opeth, Megadeth, Exodus, Arch Enemy, Killswitch Engage). The cover art was, once again, completed by Tom Thiel and depicts a mythical battle between the Norse Gods Loki & Thor. Fans will also recognize a special appearance on this album with Messiah Marcolin (Candlemass) providing guest vocals for eighth song, “Hel.” Deceiver of the Gods will be released in North America via Metal Blade Records June 25th, in Europe June 21st/24th and Japan on June 26th.

El mundo del metal conmocionado por la muerte de Jeff Hanneman (bajista de Slayer) y asi se expresaron algunos miembros de otras bandas
ROBB FLYNN, Líder de Machine Head:
Aun no puedo creer que Jeff Hanneman de Slayer este muerto, cosas como estas no pasan..los trasheron no mueren!
No me voy a sentar aca y decir que el y yo eramos muy buenos amigos o algo parecido, definitivamente no lo eramos, eramos apenas conocidos, yo hice 8 tours y mas de 120 shows y jamás hice una verdadera amistad con el. Siempre fui mas cercano a Kerry. Jeff era super tranquilo, realmente muy reservado.
Puedo recordar algunas cosas que se me vienen a la mente. La primera fue una vez en Basel, Suiza en Noviembre del 94 cuando Machine Head era la banda soporte principal de Slayer en el Divine Intervention Tour. Ese era uno de los shows donde algo extraño sucedio. En este caso, el show era sponsoreado por Chesterfield, la marca de cigarrillos y con la entrada todos se llevaban dos atados de cigarrillos. NUNCA vi tantoo humo en mi vida! Recuerdo estar caminando sobre el escenario y que todos pediamos que apagaran la maquina de humo, y en realidad no era la maquina de humo sino el humo de los cigarrillos! Era casi imposible respirar sobre el escenario. Despues del show nos juntamos con Jeff y puteabamos por el loco show de cigarrillos y el me invito a tomar una cerveza, nos sentamos y charlamos por un rato acerca de las mis canciones de Slayer y resulta que el tipo escribio y compuso la musica de una larga lista de mis temas preferidos. El fue una gran influencia para mi como compositor y en crecer a la hora de arreglar los temas. El fue la unica persona que conoci que me dijo que le gustaba "algo de Pantera", pero que preferia las notas mas diabolicas o los riffs mas tristes...
El ultimo recuerdo que voy a compartir es de la parte Americana del Divine Intervention Tour en Marzo del 95. Biohazard era el soporte y Machine Head hacia la apertura.
Estabamos el y yo en el camarin antes del show y dijo que habia estado sintiendo mucho dolor en sus muñecas. Sus brazos y muñecas se quedaban sin fuerzas todo el tiempo, y que eso le iba a pasar en algunos temas porque eran muy rapidos y comenzo a llorar. Yo solo me sente alli en silencio con el por unos minutos. Me dio un abrazo y volvio al escenario y me dijo "gracias".
Ese es el Jeff que yo voy a recordar.
